Another Clergyman into Its Ranks
With great joy, the Holy Archdiocese of Canada welcomed yet another laborer into the vineyard of the Lord. On Tuesday, June 9, His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios of Canada celebrated the ordination to the Diaconate of Mr. Joseph Xyradakis at the Holy Church of the Koimisis Tis Theotokos in Montreal, in the presence of clergy, relatives, friends, and a large number of faithful.
Joseph Xyradakis, a spiritual child of Fr. Nicholas Papageorgiou, has been serving for many years at the Holy Church of the Koimisis Tis Thetokou with zeal, humility, love, and devotion. His long-standing contribution to the parish, his active participation in the liturgical life of the Church, as well as his ecclesiastical ethos, constituted valuable preparation for the new stage of his ministry.
On Thursday, June 11, at the same Holy Church, Archbishop Sotirios proceeded with the ordination of Deacon Joseph to the Priesthood, thus completing a particularly blessed spiritual journey. The ordination was celebrated in an atmosphere of spiritual joy, with the participation of many priests from Montreal and the surrounding areas. Many faithful attended and watched with emotion these two significant ecclesiastical moments, proclaiming “Axios!”
We extend our heartfelt wishes to the newly ordained Priest, Fr. Joseph, for health, spiritual strength, and an abundance of God’s grace, so that he may serve with faith, devotion, and self-sacrifice the Church of Christ and the flock entrusted to him. Axios!
